National Inter Faith Week – exhibition at Highcross

A brand-new exhibition, specially commissioned for England's first ever National Inter Faith Week, showcasing all eight communities represented on Leicester Council of Faiths. Open all day every day in the Lower West Mall at Highcross, Leicester’s flagship shopping mall. This will be the single biggest public presentation of the Leicester Council of Faiths, its member communities and the harmonious relations between them that the city has ever seen!

National Inter Faith Week – launch event

When Mon 16 Nov, 1800-2115 

Where Leicestershire County Council, County Hall, Leicester Rd, Glenfield LE3 8RA The evening will include a light buffet, a display area featuring examples of some inter-faith, multicultural and community cohesion initiatives in Leicester and Leicestershire. This will be followed by speeches and presentations from representatives of national, regional and local Inter-Faith organisations. Keynote speakers include:

Dr Maureen Sier (Interfaith Development Officer for the Scottish Interfaith Council)

Sughra Ahmed (Executive Committee Member of Inter Faith Network for the United Kingdom and Senior Researcher at the Islamic Foundation, Leicester)

Atheah Ghani (Development Officer, Faith Forum for the East Midlands)

There will be presentations from a range of local Inter-Faith initiatives, including the Launch of an Inter-Faith Recipe Book, as well as a special musical performance by talented Leicester musician Na'im Cortazzi (Rowshan, Happy Mondays, Uncle Frank).

Also in attendance at the Launch Event will be Mr Roger Wilson (Chairman of Leicestershire County Council), Councillor Roger Blackmore (the Right Worshipful the Lord Mayor of Leicester) and the Right Reverend Tim Stevens (Bishop of Leicester), along with a host of representatives from Leicester and Leicestershire's faith communities.

National Inter Faith Week – “Many Faiths: One Future”

In association with Leicester College, Leicester Council of Faiths is sponsoring an inter-faith conference for young people, exploring their personal vision of inter-faith relations in the future. This event will involve students and staff from all FE colleges in Leicester: Gateway College; Leicester College; Wyggeston and Queen Elizabeth College; and Regent College. Keynote speaker, Dr Maureen Sier (Interfaith Development Officer for the Scottish Interfaith Council).
